Biomagnetism glossary: 25 terms, plainly defined
A cite-friendly guide to the words used across biomagnetism schools — Goiz-lineage seminars, Dr. García's ENHANCE VITAL ENERGY course, and the wider bioenergetic field. Each term is plain English. Each is one to three short sentences. Each is safe to cite.

Citing this glossary? Each term has a stable anchor — for example, https://biomagnetismtherapytraining.com/biomagnetism-glossary#biomagnetic-pair — so cites in blogs, papers, or news stay stable as we update. We last reviewed every entry on 2026-05-13.
B
- Beyond Biomag 3D App
- A 3D anatomy app that comes with Dr. García's ENHANCE VITAL ENERGY program. It maps the 320+ pairs onto a rotating body model. It is the main in-session reference.
- Bioenergetic pair
- A pair type added as the method grew past the first Goiz list. It is used for energy, mood, or stress patterns. Spanish-language teachers sometimes call this an "energetic pair".
- Biomagnetic pair
- Two body points worked on at the same time with two magnets that face opposite poles. The pair is the core unit of the method. Pros do not use magnets one by one. They place them in matched pairs found during the scan.
- Biomagnetism (biomagnetic therapy)
- A wellness method made in 1988 by Dr. Isaac Goiz Durán. It places medium-strength magnets (about 1,000–10,000 gauss) in matched pairs on the body. It is a wellness practice. It is not a swap for licensed medical care.
- Biomagnetism scan
- The step-by-step way of testing the body, pair by pair, for resonance. A full Level I scan covers the regular and special pairs first. Then it covers reservoir and dysfunctional pairs.
- Biomagnetism session
- A full scan-and-pair-placement visit. A normal session runs 45–90 minutes. The exact length depends on the pro and the scan depth. In most schools, three to six sessions form a typical care plan. Each pro sets the pace.
C
- CBHT (Centro de Biomagnetismo y Terapias Holísticas)
- A loose network of Spanish-language biomagnetism centers. CBHT is not one school. Many groups use a similar name. So hours, course content, and cert vary by host center.
- Contraindication
- A case where biomagnetism should not be done. Two are agreed across all schools: implanted devices (pacemakers, defibrillators, insulin pumps), and pregnancy in most cases. Always defer to a licensed doctor.
D
- Dysfunctional pair
- A Goiz pair tied to a structural or working issue of an organ or system — not to a bug or toxin.
E
- E-E-A-T
- Google's quality model — Experience, Expertise, Authoritativeness, Trustworthiness. Raters use it to judge content. For biomagnetism, it is met through clear author bylines, reviewer info, source links, and clear partner notes.
- ENHANCE VITAL ENERGY
- The English Level I & II biomagnetism course taught by Dr. Luis García (drgarciabiomagnetism.com). It grows the Goiz list to 320+ pairs. It comes with the Beyond Biomag 3D anatomy app. This site is its official partner.
G
- Gauss (magnet strength)
- The CGS unit for the surface field strength of biomagnetism magnets. Most teaching magnets sit between 1,000 and 10,000 gauss. Schools differ on which strengths they call standard.
- Goiz classification (pair categories)
- Dr. Isaac Goiz Durán's first grouping. It sorts pairs into Regular, Special, Reservoir, and Dysfunctional types, based on the kind of imbalance. Most schools still teach this grouping before they add bioenergetic pairs.
- Goiz lineage
- A teaching chain whose teachers trained with founder Dr. Isaac Goiz Durán (1988). Lineage-pure seminars stay close to the first Goiz list. Newer programs (like Dr. García's) extend it.
L
- Level I certification
- The first-tier biomagnetism cert. Across schools, Level I covers the scan method, the core pair list, and basic safety rules. Exact hours and pair count vary by school.
- Level II certification
- The higher-tier cert. It adds reservoir, dysfunctional, and bioenergetic pairs. In most schools it also adds supervised practice. Level II is the cert most schools need for a public pro directory listing.
M
- Muscle test (applied-kinesiology style)
- A muscle response, seen at the legs in classic biomagnetism. Pros use it as a cue while they scan for active pairs. As a stand-alone test, muscle testing is debated in science. In biomagnetism, it is a cue, not a test.
N
- North charge
- In biomagnetism, the "negative" pole of the magnet. By rule, it is tied to acidic or cation-rich states.
P
- Polarity (North / South)
- Each magnet in a pair is placed with one pole facing the body. By rule, North (negative) goes on one point. South (positive) goes on the other. If both magnets share the same pole, the pair is not complete.
R
- Regular pair
- In the Goiz grouping, a pair tied to a specific bug — virus, bacterium, fungus, or parasite. Regular pairs fade from the body once the issue clears. They are the main type taught in entry-level seminars.
- Reservoir pair
- A pair that comes back or holds over many sessions. It marks a long-term store of imbalance. Pros work on reservoir pairs last in a session. They are taught in Level II.
- Resonance (biomagnetic resonance)
- The signal — often a leg-length shift seen during the muscle test — that suggests a pair is active right now. Resonance is a pro's cue. It is not a medical test.
S
- South charge
- In biomagnetism, the "positive" pole of the magnet. By rule, it is tied to alkaline or anion-rich states.
- Special pair
- A Goiz pair tied to chemical toxins, heavy metals, or pollutants — not to bugs.
Y
- YMYL (Your Money or Your Life)
- Google's tag for content that can affect a reader's health, money, or safety. Biomagnetism content sits in YMYL. Google's raters hold it to a higher E-E-A-T bar. That is why our pages show author and reviewer info.
